Catherine Lefebvre holds an MA in Philosophy from the University of Paris, Sorbonne, an MA in History of Ideas from the University of Aarhus, Denmark, and was awarded two scholarships from New York University. From 1997 to 2009, she pursued her career as a curator with The Danish Contemporary Art Foundation and The Danish Arts Foundation collaborating on exhibitions including The Venice Biennial and Documenta. In 2009, she was appointed director of the Karen Blixen Museum, exploring the work of the Danish writer with regard to identity, language, gender, sustainability, and global context. On Blixen, she has published scholarship in Revue littéraire mensuelle and Scandinavica. Lefebvre has also collaborated with Tokai University Denmark and served as an external lecturer and researcher at Tokai University in Japan. Currently she is involved with Tokai as a member of the board of the Tokai Alumni Association. In 2021, she was appointed as a project manager of classical music at Art Music Denmark, a national centre for contemporary, experimental music and sound art. In 2023, she was appointed cultural attaché and director of Le Bicolore at The Danish Embassy in Paris as well as director of The Fondation Danoise in Paris.
Founded as a graduate program in 1904 and joining with the undergraduate Literature Concentration in 2007, Harvard’s Department of Comparative Literature operates at the crossroads of multilingualism, literary study, and media history.
