Film Screening & Conversation: THE WORK OF MEMORY: 50 Years After Argentina’s Last Dictatorship
Post screening conversation with Professor Matylda Figlerowicz
ABSTRACT:
In the framework of the 50th anniversary of the civic-military coup in Argentina, a pivotal film will be screened to reflect on how second generations have processed the memory of state violence and forced disappearances. Through cinema, Los Rubios opens a space for reflection on the ways of representing and problematizing the recent past. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Matylda Figlerowicz, Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature at Harvard University, regarding the challenges and the importance of continuing to narrate and transmit these stories.
