Emily Greenwood will be speaking about her current research in progress at 12:00pm in the Plimpton Room (Barker Center 133) on September 28th. The event is by invitation only; an email with a link to RSVP for the event will be sent out by the Mahindra Humanities Center two weeks before the presentation. Professor Greenwood’s research spans ancient Greek literature (especially historiography), classical reception studies, translation studies, intellectual history, postcolonial studies, and Black Studies. She is interested in the plural histories of use that make up the classical tradition of ancient Greece and Rome and reciprocal dialogues between the modern discipline of Classics and unruly histories of reception.
Founded as a graduate program in 1904 and joining with the undergraduate Literature Concentration in 2007, Harvard’s Department of Comparative Literature operates at the crossroads of multilingualism, literary study, and media history.
