Who needs the humanities?
Many people, it turns out, they just aren’t always the ones we’re looking for. While the academic humanities are in free-fall, demand for the humanities outside humanities departments is on the rise. Please join Tarun Khanna (Harvard Business School), Doris Sommer (Romance Languages) and Moira Weigel (Comparative Literature), as they address the humanities in the context of business, policy, and technology.
Founded as a graduate program in 1904 and joining with the undergraduate Literature Concentration in 2007, Harvard’s Department of Comparative Literature operates at the crossroads of multilingualism, literary study, and media history.
