Congratulations to Delia Ungureanu for being named one of “100 successful women of Romania” for 2023 by Capital, a leading Romanian magazine. She was the only humanist in the category of Education and Research; the award was given in recognition of her dual activities as a professor at the University of Bucharest and as Associate Director of our Institute for World Literature. A report of the award can be accessed here (easily translated into English by Google). This article includes an interview in which Delia speaks of IWL as a team effort, and of success not as a goal in itself but as the result of doing work that matters, “if and only if you are in the right place doing the thing you were born to do.”
